Description
Problem: With increasing share of intermittent renewable energy sources from the total electrical generation, high reliability of electricity grids is critical to ensure security and adequacy of the power supply. However, research is required to better understand the impact of these sources on the performance of electrical grids.
Goal: Assess the impact of renewable energy generation on the performance and reliability of power grids using advanced simulation techniques such as discrete-event simulation, agent-based simulation, and Petri nets. Explore the dynamic interactions and challenges of integrating variable renewable energy sources.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Modeling and simulation.
- Data analytics.
- Basic knowledge of renewable energy sources.
- Basic understanding of electrical grids.
- Knowledge of Python programming language.
