Description
Problem: Manufacturing industries face the challenge of integrating renewable energy sources efficiently due to the variable nature of resources such as solar and wind. Current integration practices often fail to maximize energy usage and minimize the carbon footprint effectively.
Goal: This thesis seeks to explore the application of Digital Twins to optimize the integration of renewable energy sources into manufacturing processes. The thesis starts with a comprehensive literature review of existing models and practices for the integration of renewable energy sources in manufacturing systems, followed by the optional development of an implementation using LEGO tools to demonstrate renewable energy integration in a small-scale manufacturing system.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Understanding of renewable energy technologies and their application in industrial systems.
- Good knowledge of simulation and modeling tools for digital twins.
- Knowledge of energy management and sustainability practices in manufacturing.
- Skills in data analysis to interpret complex simulations and real-time data.
